Texas Based Bank Deploys Certes Networks to Protect Sensitive Data

March 2012 by Marc Jacob

Certes Networks announced that Triumph Savings Bank has deployed its TrustNet Manager solution to encrypt and authenticate data over their Metro Ethernet based Wide Area Network (WAN).

Recently emerged from a name and management change, Triumph Savings Bank has acquired the membership interests of Advance Business Capital LLC, one of the nation’s leading finance companies in the for-hire transportation arena. This acquisition clears the path for the bank to expand its footprint into targeted commercial and industrial lending and specialty finance through its newly formed Triumph Commercial Finance subsidiary.

“As part of our recent activity, we realized that we need to secure communications between our sites running over our Time Warner Metro Ethernet circuits,” said Mike French, IT Manager at Triumph Savings Bank. “We looked at two of the leading providers of Layer 2 Encryption, but in the end, Certes Networks’ ability to encrypt and authenticate our data, along with their ease of management, made it an easy decision.”

Certes Networks provided Triumph Savings Bank with a Metro Ethernet encryption solution that performs persistent authentication to ensure both data privacy and integrity. The solution’s groundbreaking key management capability provides Triumph Savings Bank with flexible and easy to manage security policies and automatic key rotations. This solution also allows for Layer 3 and Layer 4 security policies in a single solution with the ability to secure data over any transport medium.

French went on to say, “The Certes Networks solution was easy to install and its simple drag and drop policy definitions will make our future expansions and security extensions easy. The ability to quickly extend our security policies to newly acquired sites will allow the business to achieve its objectives without security concerns slowing us down.”
