New Mirapoint Message Server 7000 Provides Cloud Computing Convenience, In-House Data Security
March 2010 by Marc Jacob
Today’s release of the Message Server 7000 puts more power under the hood of Mirapoint’s high-performance email appliance. With the latest Intel hardware architecture and lower energy requirements than server-based solutions, the Mirapoint Message Server 7000 provides convenience and reliability to both cloud providers and corporate enterprises.
"The Message Server 7000 offers bulletproof reliability at the
marketplace’s lowest TCO. This is ideal for both the cloud-computing
providers and for enterprises that require crucial corporate data to reside
inside their own firewalls," said Jeff Witous, CEO of Mirapoint.
Whether the Message Server 7000 is deployed within a cloud or a corporate
firewall, users appreciate the ability to access their email from any
desktop or mobile Web browser, while administrators appreciate the
appliance’s high reliability and low Total Cost of Ownership.
The Mirapoint family of messaging appliances, which includes RazorSafe and
RazorGate, allows customers to integrate messaging with secure archiving
and anti-spam/anti-virus protection. Now available, the Message Server 7000
runs the proven MOS 4.1.9, which is also supported by the Message Server
6000 series.
Features of the Message Server 7000
The Message Server 7000 hardware includes quad-core Xeon processors and a
high-performance RAID controller of up to 6 Gbs. Certain models include up
to 900 GB of built-in storage with hot-plug, high-performance SAS drives,
and an integrated LCD and Remote Access Controller (RAC) for facilitating
operational maintenance and diagnostics.
