A10 Networks launches its latest global 2023 Communication
Service Providers (CSP) Research revealing the challenges and
expectations from the perspective of CSPs across 11 regions, including
Southern Europe, consisting of France and Italy.
With 100% of Southern European service providers surveyed reporting they
expect to see traffic volumes rise in the next 2-3 years, the Southern
Europe report offers a holistic view of the challenges and opportunities
that this brings. From a sample of 250 respondents across France and
Italy, key trends include:
* Network security is growing more sophisticated: Southern European
respondents named DDoS scrubbing and upgrading firewalls as their joint
top security priorities. These were closely followed by automating
security policies, simplifying management and analytics systems and DDoS
mitigation and prevention, showing the range of security challenges
facing CSPs in the region.
* Cloud is a CSP success story: Whether it be revenue, evolved
offerings or differentiation, most respondents reported a positive
outcome from their cloud transition.
* Growing focus on the digital divide: 73% of respondents from France
and Italy are expanding their networks to unserved/underserved
communities.
* IPv6 transition continues to pose a challenge: Just under a third of
respondents expect to achieve a successful transition in the next 2-3
years.
