OSN Selects ForeScout CounterACT to Secure Network Productivity and Enable BYOD

ForeScout Technologies, Inc., a provider of real-time network security solutions for Global 1000 enterprises and government organisations, announced that OSN, the largest pay TV operator in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), has selected ForeScout CounterACT to deliver real-time visibility and control of all devices on the corporate network. The network access control (NAC) platform also ensures that OSN’s network is BYOD-ready; important, due to the company’s plans to fully embrace BYOD and mobility in the near future.
Ronald D’sa, IT Manager for OSN, said, “We required a product that gave us control of wired and wireless guest and contractors’ devices, as well as full visibility of all employee systems in a seamless manner so that contractors and employees can remain productive. CounterACT provides this, and more, giving us a substantive layer of real-time security.”
Prior to NAC deployment, OSN was controlling its network access and endpoint compliance more manually, which was time consuming and unproductive. CounterACT automated a broad array of IT processes, yielding annual cost savings of up to US $36,000. Ronald D’sa commented, “Last year we were spending a lot of man hours identifying non-compliant devices and guest devices – it was a challenging task. ForeScout’s NAC product requires far less resources to manage, in fact now one person can manage all devices across the entire region. Best of all, we were able to successfully roll out the solution quickly and found it extremely extensible.”
Dubai-based Nanjgel Solutions carried out a successful proof-of-concept across OSN’s complex, heterogeneous network environment, which incorporates Juniper, Cisco Foundry and Brocade infrastructure. Nanjgel then fully deployed CounterACT within a week, going live in January.
