32Red bets on LogRhythm as the favourite for guaranteed regulatory compliance

June 2012 by Marc Jacob

LogRhythm announced that 32Red, the award-winning online gaming operator, has deployed its integrated log management and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solution to ensure compliance with Payment Card Initiative Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) regulatory requirements. The system also enhances the organisation’s network visibility, enabling 32Red to improve its network error resolution processes and boost its IT security measures.

As one of the UK’s leading online casino, poker and bingo providers, 32Red safeguards the personal and payment details of hundreds of thousands of online players. As such, the company is required to track and monitor all access to network resources as well as conduct regular security control testing, under PCI DSS regulations. 32Red’s rapid growth has greatly increased the volume of log data that the company generates, causing its existing manual log data review and security control processes to become a drain of resources.

32Red therefore identified the need to deploy a centralised log management and SIEM solution, which would enable the implementation of Protective Monitoring and ensure the fulfilment of PCI standards, while significantly reducing the resources needed for compliance. Following an extensive evaluation process, the company chose LogRhythm for its manageability, value-for-money and the deep level of visibility into IT networks that its platform offers.

As 32Red’s services are hosted online and the company is listed on the London Stock Exchange, any service outage or increased latency could have severe financial and reputational repercussions. With this in mind, 32Red was also looking for a system that could not only ensure resilience, but also optimum security.
