DESCRIPTION OF THE VULNERABILITY
The apt program is used to install packages, and to handle
security updates. It is impacted by two vulnerabilities.
The /etc/cron.daily/apt cron does not check the return code of the
"date" command which indicates the system time. During a Daylight
Saving Time change, an error thus occurs and packages are not
updated. [grav:2/4; 354793, 523213, CVE-2009-1300]
The apt program uses gpgv to check the signature of packets. The
gpgv command returns VALIDSIG if the signature is valid, and
GOODSIG is the signature is valid and made with a valid key.
However, apt checks VALIDSIG instead of GOODSIG. Packets signed
with an expired or revoked key are thus accepted. [grav:2/4;
