SYNTHESIS OF THE VULNERABILITY
A local attacker can read a memory fragment of the emulator of the
device MegaRAID SAS 8708EM2 in QEMU, in order to obtain sensitive
information.

DESCRIPTION OF THE VULNERABILITY
The QEMU product includes an emulator of the device MegaRAID SAS
8708EM2.
One function of QEMU allows to query informations about the
device. However, the function megasas_ctrl_get_info build a
character string without adding the NUL terminator. The content of
the memory area is so errorneously returned to the guest process.
A local attacker can therefore read a memory fragment of the
emulator of the device MegaRAID SAS 8708EM2 in QEMU, in order to
obtain sensitive information.
