February 2016 by Vigil@nce
This bulletin was written by Vigil@nce : https://vigilance.fr/offer
SYNTHESIS OF THE VULNERABILITY
An attacker can trigger a Cross Site Scripting of Node.js
handlebars, in order to run JavaScript code in the context of the
web site.
Impacted products: Fedora, Node.js Modules not comprehensive,
Unix (platform) not comprehensive.
Severity: 2/4.
Creation date: 11/12/2015.
DESCRIPTION OF THE VULNERABILITY
The Node.js handlebars product offers a web service.
However, it does not filter received data before inserting them in
generated HTML documents. If attributes are not surrounded by
quotes, a JavaScript injection is thus possible.
An attacker can therefore trigger a Cross Site Scripting of
Node.js handlebars, in order to run JavaScript code in the context
of the web site.
