SYNTHESIS OF THE VULNERABILITY

An attacker can trigger a persistent Cross Site Scripting in a
description field of Magento, in order to execute JavaScript code
in the context of the web site.

– Impacted products: Magento Community Edition, Magento Enterprise Edition.
– Severity: 2/4.
– Creation date: 01/07/2015.

DESCRIPTION OF THE VULNERABILITY

The Magento product offers a web service.

However, it does not filter data received in a link description
before storing them then inserting them in generated HTML
documents.

An attacker can therefore trigger a persistent Cross Site
Scripting in a description field of Magento, in order to execute
JavaScript code in the context of the web site.
