Vigil@nce: Linux kernel, remote access via dccp_setsockopt_change()
August 2008 by Vigil@nce
SYNTHESIS
A remote attacker can maliciously use "dccp_setsockopt_change"
function to generate a "Kernel Panic" and thus generate a denial
of service.

– Linux kernel [confidential versions]
DESCRIPTION
DCCP protocol provide a way to gain access to congestion control
mechanisms.
The Linux Kernel implements this protocol in net/dccp/ directory.
The "dccp_setsockopt_change" function implemented in proto.c file,
can be exploited to generates a "Kernel Panic".
A remote attacker can therefore maliciously use
"dccp_setsockopt_change" function to generate a "Kernel Panic" and
thus generate a denial of service.
