SYNTHESIS OF THE VULNERABILITY
An attacker can send a malicious UDP packet to HP-UX, in order to
trigger a denial of service in IPFilter.
Impacted products: HP-UX.
Severity: 2/4.
Creation date: 17/02/2016.
DESCRIPTION OF THE VULNERABILITY
The HP-UX IPFilter product can be used to filter received packets.
However, with HP-UX IPFilter version A.11.31.18.21, if an UDP rule
contains the "keep state" option, a malicious UDP packet is
received, a fatal error occurs.
An attacker can therefore send a malicious UDP packet to HP-UX, in
order to trigger a denial of service in IPFilter.
