SYNTHESIS OF THE VULNERABILITY
An attacker can send a malicious packet to Cisco IOS XR on Cisco
ASR 9000 Series, in order to trigger a denial of service.

– Creation date: 12/04/2016.
DESCRIPTION OF THE VULNERABILITY
The Cisco IOS XR product has a service to manage received packets.
However, when a malicious packet is received, a fatal error occurs
during the CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check) computation on Cisco ASR
9000 Series.
An attacker can therefore send a malicious packet to Cisco IOS XR
on Cisco ASR 9000 Series, in order to trigger a denial of service.
