DESCRIPTION OF THE VULNERABILITY
The SCCP (Skinny Call Control Protocol) protocol is used by Cisco
VoIP phones, to communicate with the CallManager. A packet is
composed of:
– 4 bytes indicating the size
– 4 null bytes
– 4 bytes for the message type
– message
When a malformed SCCP packet transits by Cisco FWSM, it reloads.
An attacker can therefore use SCCP control messages, in order to
generate a denial of service.
This vulnerability also impacts Cisco ASA (described in the
bulletin VIGILANCE-VUL-9458).
