The Loire Atlantique General Council secures Web applications with Bee Ware

Distributed over 59 cantons, the 221 municipalities of the Loire-Atlantique department
in France assemble over 1,2 million citizens within a surface area of 7 000 km². The General Council (CG44) is
headquartered in Nantes, 6th-largest French municipality housing a population of 283 000.
The daily business of the local government authority ranges from citizen-centric E-services to information sharing
with external bodies and remote user access to various types of data. In order to safeguard its information
systems and publish secure custom applications, the Council wished to benefit from the services of a professional
vendor with a suitable offering. Bee Ware’s solution was presented by the integrator Telindus and was selected
following an evalutaion process and visits to deploying customers.

In addition to these primary benefits Bee Ware’s platform chalked up further points thanks to its Single Sign On
(SSO) module. This aspect enabled the security policy used to be fortified, thereby creating a robust protection
system with the benefits of both filtering and authentication.
SSO comes into play when Council agents log on to Web applications. Targeting more than twenty critical
applications, the initiative to roll out the technology across multiple applications was launched in 2010. Currently,
a pilot has been deployed across five applications. Bee Ware’s solution is also instrumental in providing safe
access to mobile user messaging applications (i-Phone and Smartphone synchronisation), with all administration
being centralized.
The IT Systems Management of the Loire Atlantique General Council emphasizes the reliability and userfriendliness
of i-Suite. These characteristics are illustrated by the fact that since the initial rollout in 2006 the
vendor’s support services were seldom needed and no major issues were experienced during the set-up of the
