The Danish Internet Exchange Establishes Presence at Interxion
April 2011 by Emmanuelle Lamandé
INTERXION HOLDING NV announced that it has signed an agreement with the Danish Internet Exchange (DIX) to establish DIX’s second national Internet Exchange at Interxion’s data centre in Copenhagen.
Since 1994, the DIX at DTU (Technical University of Denmark), Lyngby has been Denmark’s only official hub for the exchange of Internet traffic. Therefore, the agreement between DIX and Interxion means that both existing and future members of the DIX now have an alternative point of presence at Interxion’s data centre in Ballerup. The DIX facility is operated by UNI-C, which is a government agency working under the Ministry of Education.
