The Baby Appliance: Synerway’s latest addition revolutionizes how SMBs protect their data

Synerway, the French software publisher and data protection specialist has created an opening in the emerging DRP (Disaster Recovery Plan) market for smaller sites.
After a major incident, it is essential for all businesses to be able to restart IT operations as rapidly as possible. Whereas major corporations all have costly DRPs in place, the same cannot always be said for smaller organizations.
On the strength of many years’ experience working with corporate customers, Synerway has now turned its attention to smaller businesses with the Baby Appliance and its integrated “One-Click” DRP feature.
Synerway CEO Christian Maillard: “This solution has already been deployed on several thousand corporate sites and we are now integrating this technology into a new compact format Appliance which will be the key entry-level Appliance in our range. The DRP market for SMBs and SoHo customers is basically untapped and opportunities are vast. We believe the ease of deployment and simplicity of use of the Baby Appliance will provide customers with an efficient, reduced-cost solution”.
Uniquely positioned on this market, the Baby Appliance has built-in “One-Click UBMR” Disaster Recovery technology to put rapid critical server restoration within the reach of all. Features generally reserved for only the biggest companies are now available for all. This ensures business continuity and therefore economic survival in the event of a major incident.
Synerway has also developed a simplified interface for the end user. The Baby Appliance is a plug and play solution in the style of an ADSL box.
The Baby Appliance automatically protects critical Windows servers and also files and folders on Windows workstations. Restoration is simple with a single click in the intuitive web interface. Completely silent, it can be placed on a desk. It enables you to backup and store up to 300 GB of native data over one month cycle. You can also externalize data offsite using removable RDX disks and remote network destinations – including other Synerway Appliances.
This solution is available from Synerway resellers with a RRP €1 245 excl. tax. This price includes the purchase of a 1 TB box, a 3-year hardware guarantee plus a 1-year renewable licence to use the software.
