Symantec : Did you know? 317 million new malicious programs were created in 2014
July 2015 by Symantec
The 20th edition of the Symantec ISTR report (Internet Security Threat Report) reveals an increase of the cybercrime with 317 millions of new malware (malicious software) created last year, by around 1 million every day.
Cybercriminals continue to use the email as important attack vector, but pursue experimenting with new methods of attack on mobile devices and social networks to reach more people, by making less effort.
They use automated tools and are helped by the consumers in order to propagate their attacks. In 2014, 70% of social media scams have been manually shared, attackers taking advantage of the trust that people grant to content shared by their friends.
