Sentinel Navigator now available in « as a service » model

January 2013 by Marc Jacob

SAN Sentinel SAS, publisher of SRM (Storage Resource Management) software and independent from storage array manufacturers, offers the “Cloud” version of its main software, Sentinel Navigator.

Now that the Cloud service providers use the SRM Sentinel Navigator CSP platform, companies can control their storage, monitor the consumption of each application or plan new capacity purchases in “pay as you use” mode. The simplicity of Sentinel Navigator combined with the Cloud architecture, enables users to pay only for what they really use.

By simply downloading an extractor, the user will be able to have his storage array completely audited within a few minutes and the connected servers as well as the entire infrastructure, however complex it may be, inventoried.

All the SRM Sentinel Navigator features will be accessible to users who, without any setup in their own environment, will be able to browse with the graphic interface through the correlated information and broadcast locally and whenever they want audit reports in XL format.

With a yearly subscription, the collected information will be stored by name. The subscriber will then have access to the records of each collection which will allow him to go back to previous setups for media purposes, to monitor “Thin Provisioning” on a regular basis or to perform “Chargeback” for each application or virtual machine.

The implementation of Sentinel Navigator in a Cloud architecture enables all companies to make significant savings, by monitoring on a regular basis the progression of their storage and without investing in extra resources and specific infrastructure or acquiring expensive and constraining software.
