Secon launch SharePoint Protection

Secon introduce the first security & performance solution specifically for Microsoft SharePoint. Dedicated to securing IT networks and infrastructures for over 10 years, Secon have put together a solution in response to the increased security risks and performance issues brought to the users of SharePoint.
The Secon SharePoint Protection & Performance solution incorporates SharePoint specific Antivirus to ensure that Security Risks are dramatically reduced combined with Traffic Management, to ensure optimum performance and enhance the user’s experience.
The first European SharePoint Best PracticesTM Conference was held at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in Westminster, London at the start of April 2009. The three day event proved a great success for all involved. Feedback from attending delegates has been that Protection and Performance are extremely neglected areas.

We use an integrated Antivirus solution that has been specifically designed with the needs of the SharePoint platform in mind. This solution has been tailored to provide Antivirus and content scanning specifically for the Microsoft SharePoint platform, no matter the size or complexity of the deployment. Management tools also ease the administration overhead and provide visibility of security incidents across the whole Microsoft SharePoint Deployment. This SharePoint specific solution detects and cleans files located in vulnerable areas whilst offering the facility to manage the levels of traffic when data is being requested, ensuring optimum reliability.

The functionality is able to make Microsoft SharePoint deployments more reliable, reducing downtime due to routine maintenance and unanticipated failures. Application server isolation, HTTP/S request and response scrubbing, HTTP/S request validation and HTTP/S request rate shaping features help place Microsoft SharePoint Servers in a secure environment, protecting them from many known HTTP attacks.
