Save the Children’s Data Saved by Asigra and Databarracks

Asigra Inc., a backup and recovery software provider since 1986, released details of how its partner Databarracks, a provider of secure online backup services, has helped charity organisation Save the Children UK manage its data lifecycle and implement a new disaster recovery plan for its 20TB of data with Asigra Cloud Backup.
Save the Children raises more than £200 million every year to help young people worldwide lead safer, better lives. The UK-based charity undertakes work in areas such as education, nourishment, healthcare and protection; current projects include helping victims of the Haitian earthquake and children in war-torn regions like Afghanistan. With a sizeable amount of data and applications, including finance systems, communications, and numerous databases, ensuring that these are always up and running is a time-consuming job, and the charity needed a new, more cost-effective strategy that would ideally require fewer in-house resources.
Save the Children needed to find a service provider that would manage the organisation’s data lifecycle from start to finish, from backup to recovery, and from live data to archive.
