Sagem Sécurité delivers innovative lottery terminals to Loto Québec
December 2008 by Marc Jacob
Sagem Sécurité (SAFRAN Group) announced that it has been selected by Loto Québec to build and install S4 lottery terminals. Starting with a trial phase involving the installation of 80 terminals in 25 commercial places in Montréal and Québec, this project will ensure the reliable, secure issuance of lottery receipts directly at cash registers.
The S4 terminal features a compact design and wireless technology, making it perfectly suited to supermarket type cash registers. Above all, it does not require any specific infrastructure. Fast and easy to use, it guarantees a high level of security and gives players a real lottery receipt, comparable to those issued at regular sales outlets. This means that the S4 terminal makes things easier and more practical for lottery players.
“This project once again demonstrates Sagem Sécurité’s ability to come up with innovative solutions, and continues our partnership with Loto Québec, to whom we have already delivered some 8,750 S8 on-line terminals”, said Jean-Paul Jainsky, Chairman and CEO of Sagem Sécurité. “We’re delighted with this latest vote of confidence by Loto Québec, which allows us to continue to support their dynamic growth.”
The contract from Loto Québec further consolidates Sagem Sécurité’s position as a major global designer and manufacturer of gaming terminals. With more than 180,000 terminals in service worldwide, Sagem Sécurité confirms its ability to provide innovative turnkey solutions meeting the specific requirements of different lottery organizations worldwide.
