SNIA Europe to Hold Certification Readiness Assessment Tests at Storage Expo Netherlands

The Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) Europe today announced that it will be holding Certification Readiness Assessments (CRAs) at Storage Expo, booth D027, in Jaarbeurs, Utrecht this week. These tests emulate the Prometric environment using a sample of approximately 30 questions to enable the recreation of the pressures and technical expectancy of a real SNIA certification test. During a CRA however, SNIA Europe staff are on-hand to offer help and guidance throughout the process. The top achievers in this test can win a 50% off voucher towards a Prometric test which can be used towards attaining the SNIA Certified Storage Professional qualification. Other prizes are available in the form of discounts against online training materials and class room training opportunities.
The SNIA Certified Profession (SCSP) is a vendor-neutral credential designed to offer a foundation of knowledge for any storage networking professional seeking to gain expertise in the storage networking area. This credential provides validation for storage networking concepts that can be applied to more challenging SNIA credentials or vendor accreditation programs.

Today SNIA Europe also announced that Mario Vosschmidt, European Alliance Manager at LSI Logic GmbH, has joined the association’s Board of Directors as Membership Committee Chair and Strategic Alliance Chair, and unveiled the latest version of SNIA Dictionary – European Edition. The SNIA Dictionary contains terms and definitions related to storage and other information technologies, and is the storage networking industry’s most comprehensive attempt to date to arrive at a common body of terminology for the technologies it represents. The terms go through a rigorous technical review and approval process by the SNIA Technical Council to assure their accuracy.
