Republic of Sudan gets state-of-the-art e-Services and Smart Card Solutions

November 2011 by Emmanuelle Lamandé

GET Group FZE has signed a contract through its Sudanese partner, Castle Computer Services Co.Ltd., with the Secretariat of Sudanese Working Abroad (SSWA), part of the Republic of Sudan’s Ministry of Cabinet Affairs, to provide the government organization and its customers with cutting-edge e-Services and Smart Card solutions. The contract was signed by both parties at CARTES & IDentification.

To obtain services from the Sudanese government, Sudanese expats currently have to fill in
time-consuming and lengthy paperwork, thus causing delay and dissatisfaction amongst
many users. Now with the implementation of the new system from GET Group it is possible
for Sudanese expats to avail of those services and make payments for them electronically,
whether within the Republic of Sudan or at the Sudanese embassy or consulate in the country
where they are based.

In addition to the benefits of business process automation for SSWA, some of the new
system’s advantages for end-users include the ability to store transaction history on Smart
Cards as well as improved customer service standards.

The system is due to be implemented initially in five countries outside the Republic of Sudan,
specifically for e-Government, before engaging other government entities and the private
sector.
