Panda Security launches its 2009 products

Panda Security has launched its new 2009 consumer solutions. Panda Antivirus Pro 2009, Panda Internet Security 2009 and Panda Global Protection 2009 offer a protection with the technology of the Collective Intelligence approach to its commercially available products. Furthermore the community feature of Collective Intelligence provides a full vision and full traceability of the new malware techniques and distribution points. This knowledge allows Panda to continuously improve the protection of its customers.
Panda Security’s Collective Intelligence works as an online, real-time database that stores the majority of signature files, keeping them at a minimum on the users’ PCs. The new products not only use Collective Intelligence to carry out on-demand scans from the cloud but also to protect users while surfing the Web, determine if emails are safe or not, provide better protection against unknown malware and scan programs shared through instant messaging applications.
Every Panda user is a sensor for new malware, sending statistical data about malware prevalence back to the cloud.This new approach reduces bandwidth consumption on customers’ PCs and provides faster and more comprehensive up-to-date protection.
This innovative model not only allows detecting much more malware than the manual systems that some laboratories use, but is also able to detect even new threats not yet recognized. Combining Collective Intelligence and TruPrevent technologies Panda is capable to detect the most sophisticated malware.
Furthermore Panda Security’s consumer solutions incorporate a version of its “Identity Protect” technology. This technology proactively detects any attempt to steal confidential data through a heuristic scanner. Panda’s new solutions also include a new engine for neutralizing banker Trojans. Both Panda Internet Security 2009 and Panda Global Protection 2009 incorporate a personal data filter which allows users to define confidential information (account numbers, passwords, etc.) that should not leave the PC without the user’s consent. All this aims at preventing theft of confidential data.
Another new key feature is the TruPrevent 2.0 engine for behavior-based malware detection. This engine provides protection against unknown malware and attacks exploiting vulnerabilities. The new TruPrevent 2.0 has been greatly improved, increasing the detection rate substantially while decreasing the number of false positives.
The new anti-spam engine included in Panda Internet Security 2009 and Panda Global Protection 2009 uses Collective Intelligence technology and increases the spam detection rate eliminating the vast majority of unwanted email.

It is aimed at families and users who require maximum protection to use the Internet with complete peace of mind. The license for up to 3 PCs will be available for € 69.95 and the license for 1 PC for € 49.95.
Panda Global Protection 2009: As well as the features included in the other two solutions, Panda Security’s new consumer solution includes a 2 GB premium online backup system and system restoring tools. These features help protect the most important files against accidental loss or damage. It is aimed at advanced Internet users who need to carry out online activities (purchases, bank transactions, tax return payments, etc.). It is also suitable for users working from home. The price of a license for up to 3 PCs is € 89.95 and € 69.95 for 1 PC.
