Mike Polatsek, CybeReady: Companies should adopt an APT approach, Advanced Persistent Training

October 2022 by Marc Jacob Valentin Jangwa, Global Security Mag

During ITSA 2022, CybeReady presented its training platform which simulates attacks in order to raise awareness among business teams. This platform offers tailor-made programs according to the level of awareness of each employee. Mike Polatsek, CSO of CybeReady believes that companies should adopt an APT approach, Advanced Persistent Training approach to fight against APT (Advanced Persistent Threat).

Global Security Mag: What are you presenting at ITSA this year?

Mike Polatsek: We are showing our cybersecurity training platform. It reduces the risk of attacks thanks to the attack simulations it offers. It uses an approach based on real-time data analysis.

Global Security Mag: What are the strengths of your solution?

Mike Polatsek: the first strong point is that our solution offers a complete program and not a fragmented catalog of content. Second, decisions to manage the program are driven by data, not human actions. Our Machine Learning-driven multilingual program decides who needs training, how often, and when. In fact, at the beginning of the deployment of our solution, we use AD to make a first attack simulation in order to analyze the behavior of the employees and to adapt the training.

The third advantage is to offer short content so that users read it quickly. This engages them to complete the training and we get more feedback. As a result, we collect more data than we analyze. This process allows us to constantly improve the targeting of the awareness campaign.

Finally, our solution is fully automated.

Global Security Mag: What is your marketing strategy in Germany?

Mike Polatsek: We have an hybrid approach, direct and indirect. As a result, we have local partners who target vertical sectors.

In the beginning of our installation in Germany in 2017 we attended the CIOMove event in Bonn which brings together German CIOs. This event allowed us to obtain our first customers who remain loyal to CybeReady ever since.

Global Security Mag: What is your message to our readers?

Mike Polatsek: Companies should adopt an APT approach: Advanced Persistent Training approach. Thus, it is about countering the APT (Advanced Persistent Threat) by APT!
