Matrix42 Brings Security and Flexibility to BYOD Policies
May 2012 by Marc Jacob
Matrix42, a provider of workplace management solutions, today announced the integration of mobile device management (MDM) with IT service management (ITSM). Matrix42 is the first to fully integrate these two complementary offerings to give organizations greater visibility and control over their mobile assets and the flexibility to effectively implement BYOD (bring your own device) policies and self-provisioning for employees.
This combination provides organizations and their employees flexibility in the devices that are used and how they are managed. IT administrators can ensure all mobile devices connected to the network are inventoried, secured and managed within company policies, whether they support BYOD for employees or the devices are owned by the company. Users can be given the ability to acquire and self-provision their device and access management features such as device location and data wiping.
The integration of mobile device management and IT service management is available as part of the newly released Matrix42 Service Store 5.3 SP3. Other enhancements as part of the release include:
Improved workflow management processes for approving and provisioning services
Integration with Matrix42 Enterprise Manager for provisioning Microsoft SCCM software packages from the service catalog
Updated iPhone app for users to easily access the service catalog, place orders, open help tickets, etc.
Addition of Polish user interface
Matrix42 Service Store 5.3 SP3 is now available for download from the Matrix42 Support Portal on its web site or by contacting a Matrix42 representative.
