M86 Security Boosts its M86 Secure Web Gateway

February 2012 by Emmanuelle Lamandé

M86 Security announced the new release of its M86 Secure Web Gateway (SWG). M86 SWG version 10.2 provides additional networking and third-party integration options with the new ICAP client functionality enabling organizations. The new release also includes the hybrid cloud service as a standard feature and supports new cloud platforms.

The M86 SWG already offers valuable features, such as, Web security, user authentication, Web filtering, data loss prevention, inspection and validation of SSL-encrypted traffic, and content caching. The new release 10.2 comprises additional features and enhancements, including:

ICAP Client Support Offers Greater Flexibility
The M86 SWG 10.2 integrates with all types of third-party ICAP servers or client devices, many of which may already be in use, to provide organizations with increased flexibility.

Integrated Hybrid Cloud Platform Secures Remote and Mobile Users
This new release includes M86 Security’s hybrid cloud deployment option as a standard feature, enabling organizations to extend the same robust on-premises Web security and policy control to roaming users and remote offices—at no extra cost. In addition, Amazon Web Services Elastic Compute (EC2) is supported as an alternative cloud scanner platform, further extending customer choice.

Scanner Grouping Enables Deployment in Large Distributed Environments
With the M86 SWG 10.2, Web scanners can be organized and managed easily by dedicated groups, giving organizations the flexibility and affordability they need to deploy the solution in large to very large distributed environments.

Version 10.2 of the M86 SWG will be available through authorized channel partners and distributors in April 2012.
