Jaguar Network Selects Juniper Networks for High-Performance Next Generation Pan-European Infrastructure

August 2010 by Marc Jacob

Juniper Networks announced that Jaguar Network, a French-owned pan-European network operator, has selected Juniper Networks MX Series Universal Edge Routers to upgrade the infrastructure for its portfolio of IP and MPLS-based next generation services for small and medium business. By deploying Juniper Networks MX960 Routers and Juniper Networks MX480 Routers throughout its 20 collocation centers across Europe, Jaguar Network estimates it will be able to reduce its OPEX (Operating Expense) by 75 percent and CAPEX (Capital Expense) by 45 percent over a five-year period.
Jaguar Network (www.jaguar-network.com), founded in 2001, focuses on small and medium businesses to provide xDSL, IP transit, L2 Transport, VPN MPLS, Collocation and Housing services in over twenty collocation centers across Europe. The company is building a powerful and resilient optical fiber network in Europe, and developing its own brand for high-performance connectivity, Très Haute Disponibilité (THD).

“We needed a high-performance platform that can operate reliably and securely under all conditions and accommodate dynamic requirements for services, capacity and access. Juniper’s innovative technology provides a highly scalable platform that enables us to build a long-term business model that can develop alongside our customers’ evolving needs,” said Kevin Polizzi, CEO, Jaguar Network. “The total cost of ownership and sustainability of our data center infrastructure also plays a key role in the business model, and we estimate that the MX Series helps us to be 30 percent more power efficient and 50 percent more space efficient than our previous solution.”

The Juniper Networks MX Series is a family of Ethernet Services Routers with powerful switching and security features, capable of supporting advanced services and applications. The MX Series separates control and forwarding functions to provide maximum scale and intelligent service delivery capabilities. Jaguar Network differentiates itself by tightly integrating the network and the data center to deliver high value cloud-based services.

The MX Series is based on the industry-leading Junos software, Juniper’s single-source operating system, enabling organizations to reduce the cost and complexity of their networks, improve reliability and performance.

Juniper’s local partner on the Jaguar Network deployment is Intexan, a specialized provider in core network, transport equipments and routing.
