EuroDNS was the first ICANN-accredited Registrar .tel

July 2008 by Marc Jacob

EuroDNS SA and Telnic Ltd announced that EuroDNS was the first ICANN-accredited Registrar to sign up to distribute the new communications-focused .tel top level domain (TLD).

The .tel enables the user to store, update and publish contact information, web links and keywords directly on the Internet under a unique domain name. Simple, fast and accessible from any device, .tel provides a new internet standard for businesses and individuals to take full control over how and where people reach them. The .tel enables global discoverability in the first ’live’, next-generation contacts directory, with keywords enhancing search engine optimization.

Additionally, the ease of use and rich functionality of the .tel publishing platform opens up new markets and opportunities for developers and resellers. Through the expertise acquired by its EnumDNS subsidiary, EuroDNS has the adequate technological means and experience to help its customers develop new services and solutions using the .tel.

A Luxembourg based company, EuroDNS is a global Registrar specialised in International Domain Name extensions, and a leader on the European market. Thanks to its strong "one-stop-shop" strategy and with more than 100+ extensions available, EuroDNS offers its customers the possibility to consolidate their portfolios, not only worldwide but also in key segments of the market. Excellent relations with Domain Name Registries have allowed the company to achieve great success with the recent launches of other extensions such as .Asia and .Me.

Working with Telnic, EuroDNS will endeavour to inform developers, brand owners and customers at large of the benefits of .tel. Sunrise applications will be open to national trademark owners on a first-come, first-served basis from Wednesday, 3rd December 2008. Landrush applications open to all will commence on Tuesday, 3rd February 2009.
