Debriefing Software launches cloud-based Storage Resource Management solution in the UK

April 2012 by Emmanuelle Lamandé

Debriefing Software launched in the UK a cloud-based, pay-as-you-use storage resource management (SRM) solution designed to reduce and optimise storage and backup CAPEX/OPEX for both mid-sized and large IT infrastructures.

Wizards Storage Portal® is a proven solution that has been delivering results for years for an extensive customer base in Denmark and Sweden, including brands such as Bang & Olufsen and LEGO. A backup and SRM solution that ensures data is secure, available and easy to access in the most cost-effective way possible, Wizards Storage Portal is delivered as a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offering via a local support partner. It installs in less than 15 minutes and works with the leading SRM technologies, including IBM Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM), IBM San Volume Controller (SVC) and Brocade SAN switches. As of this month, Wizards Storage Portal for TSM alone is monitoring backups on 42.179 servers on all continents.

Wizards Storage Portal® eliminates routine and resource-intensive tasks by monitoring backup and SAN management performance and trends in real-time. The customisable dashboard is easily set up via a selection of widgets to provide reporting capabilities that include more than 200 pre-configured reports and graphs that lets you drill all the way down to individual node level. A free iPhone/iPad app provides access at anytime and from anywhere.

Key benefits of Wizards Storage Portal include:

o Monitor your backup system or Storwize cluster 24/7 by defining alerts via email, SMS or to Windows Event log.

o Locate valuable storage space by using reports and alerts to discover reusable resources even in virtual environments.

o Historic reporting gives a full picture from as far back as two years and any time period for all planned backup/archive events in data and graphic forms.

o Heat maps lets you view up to 60 days of activity on one page to identify performance issues down to node level so that you can then optimise workloads and avoid bottlenecks.

o Secure sharing of information via a cloud-based data warehouse makes it easy to transfer management responsibilities to a cost-effective and flexible outsourced IT partner.

o Licenses are provided FREE OF CHARGE, with only one license PER TSM Server, Storwize/SVC Cluster.
