Comments from Fujitsu - Apple email scam

Following the news of the recent Apple email scam, please see below comments from Rob Norris, Director of Enterprise & Cyber Security in EMEIA at Fujitsu.
“The fact that there is new email scam which scares victims into thinking someone has used their bank details, posing as Apple, is no surprise. Phishing has and continues to be one of the most effective means of a malicious operator gaining access to targeted organisations, which has led to the continuing development of successful phishing scams.
“To combat these types of attacks, consumers should always report emails to reportphishing@apple.com. No legitimate organisation will ask for security or banking details so consumers need to be suspicious of any email that requests these. It’s important for consumers to also use a password manager to generate and manage secure passwords or use the built in password manager in iOS or OSX.”
