Carlsberg selects Verizon to Manage IT Communications Operations

December 2010 by Marc Jacob

Global brewer Carlsberg has selected Verizon Business as its new network operations partner for Carlsberg’s European operations.

Under a new, four-year agreement, Verizon Business is delivering an integrated IT networking solution, supported by comprehensive managed services and security offerings across 20 countries in Europe. The Verizon solution consolidates Carlsberg’s European IT services onto a fully managed, advanced corporate network, and encompasses wide and local area networks, Internet connectivity, data and security.

Carlsberg chose Verizon Business as its information technology partner as Verizon’s global reach, standard solutions portfolio and professional approach had the best fit with Carlsberg’s requirements.

Verizon is also providing Carlsberg with a single-touch account team, which consolidates all aspects of network management. The model leverages Verizon’s experience in managing local and global networks and relationships, providing a seamless IT infrastructure that can be quickly scaled as Carlsberg’s business needs dictate.

“We felt that a centralised, outsourced network model was the right way forward for our business in Europe,” said Kenneth Egelund Schmidt, Carlsberg’s CIO. “In Verizon, we have chosen a global provider for whom network services are a core competence.”
