Caja Extremadura uses DIGIPASS 810 card reader to secure its e-banking solution Servicash

VASCO Data Security International, Inc. announces that Caja de Extemadura uses VASCO’s DIGIPASS® 810 to secure its online banking solution Servicash. Caja de Extremadura is the first bank in Spain to distribute EMV CAP certified card readers to its retail customers.
Caja de Extremadura is considered as one of the most solid and profitable savings banks in Spain. Within the framework of the Independent Community of Extremadura, its scope of action, the bank manages around 25% of the business volume turning it into the unquestionable leader of the regional financial system.
As the internet is an important component of the bank’s multi channel strategy and in order to give their customers a secure e-banking experience, the bank deployed VASCO’s DIGIPASS 810 card readers. Functionalities of DIGIPASS 810 include among other EMV-CAP technology, making Caja de Extremadura a pioneer in Spain in using strong authentication that is EMV certified.
Thanks to DIGIPASS 810 Caja de Extremadura’s customers can access their online banking accounts from the comfort of their own home at any time. The bank offers customers a complete online banking experience as Servicash includes mail functionalities, a web agenda and a tool for organizing domestic accounts. To assist customers during an online purchase, Caja de Extremadura developed a virtual assistant, named “VINI”.
DIGIPASS 810 is also used by Caja de Extremadura’s employees to log on to the company’s corporate VPN; allowing them to securely access the bank’s network anywhere at any given time without needing to install additional hard- or software on end-users’ computers.
