Bull rolls out its solutions CRYPT2Pay and CRYPT2Protect HSM in Brazil

November 2013 by Marc Jacob

At the CARTES 2013 event in Paris – where Brazil is the guest of honour – Bull will be showcasing its CRYPT2Pay and CRYPT2Protect solutions.

CRYPT2Pay and CRYPT2Protect are the only Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) to have achieved the highest level of accreditation in Brazil. Bull’s offerings have been marketed in Brazil since 2012, to address the pressing need to secure the country’s digital data.

Bull is the only international HSM provide to be certified to ICP-Brasil level 3; the highest possible level. ICP-Brasil certification is awarded by the national information technology institute (the ITI), which comes under the auspices of the Brazilian Ministry for Technologies and Information.

Bull’s certified solutions are especially well suited to the Brazilian market, where the use of smart cards and paperless documents is experiencing particularly rapid growth. The development of mobile phone usage and the Internet has led Brazil to further strengthen the security levels and authentication for electronic data interchange, including for financial transactions.

Bull has designed its CRYPT2Pay and CRYPT2Protect HSMs in close collaboration with the leading international banking networks, financial institutions and strategic partners. This collaboration has led, for example, to PCI HSM (Payment Card Industry HSM) certification for CRYPT2Pay at the beginning of this year. CRYPT2Protect is essentially used to provide cryptographic services for data encryption and protection, electronic signatures and user authentication, as well as the management of secure transactions and the secure storage of private keys. All these functions can be attached to generic payments processing functions within the same HSM.
