Brocade expands include solutions from Aruba Networks

November 2014 by Marc Jacob

Brocade and Aruba Networks announced that they have entered into an agreement that will allow customers to procure integrated wired and wireless solutions leveraging Brocade’s innovative acquisition model, Brocade® Network Subscription. This unique acquisition model enables customers to subscribe to the network infrastructure they need as-a-service using OpEx funds, with no upfront capital spending.

Brocade Network Subscription has expanded beyond Brocade product lines to include Aruba’s gigabit Wireless LAN (802.11ac) Mobility Controllers and Access Points, as well as ClearPass Access Management, AirWave Network Management, and Meridian Apps. Under the terms of the agreement, customers subscribing to solutions from Aruba Networks are able to procure them via a Brocade Network Subscription agreement, provided that the transaction is substantially comprised of Brocade enterprise products. This allows greater scalability and upgradability, as well as freedom from term commitments and product depreciation cycles through a monthly OpEx fee.

This flexibility is critical for enterprises and service providers that must support their growing network needs as part of the transition to the New IP. The New IP is a dramatic evolution in networking resulting from the scale, speed, and scope of growing cloud, mobile, and social requirements.
Brocade Network Subscription customers will benefit from:
? Pay-as-you-go pricing with the flexibility to upgrade at any time, free from term commitments and depreciation cycles
? Up-and-down scalability to adjust to changing business needs
? The ability to align IT infrastructure capacity and project costs with network demand and benefits
? The ability to balance OpEx and CapEx with fiscal certainty to better manage cash flow

This agreement extends the partnership between Brocade and Aruba. Both companies are helping address key enterprise networking challenges, including the proliferation of mobile devices within campus environments, Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) initiatives, and emerging technologies such as Software-Defined Networking (SDN).
