Barracuda Networks Launches Barracuda SSL VPN 680

March 2009 by Emmanuelle Lamandé

Barracuda Networks Inc.launched the Barracuda SSL VPN 680, the newest addition to the Barracuda SSL VPN product line.

The Barracuda SSL VPN 680 uses existing SSL capabilities built into every modern Web browser. The intuitive Web user interface makes it easy for administrators to monitor and maintain, as well as to provide granular access for greater control over individual resources. In addition, the Barracuda SSL VPN 680’s straightforward user portal allows users to view what resources are available unlike a traditional VPN which assigns a user an IP address on the network and then leaves it up to the end user to figure out what resources they are allowed to access.

The Barracuda SSL VPN is an integrated hardware and software solution enabling secure, clientless remote access to internal network resources from any Web browser. Designed for remote employees and road warriors, the Barracuda SSL VPN provides comprehensive control over file systems and Web-based applications requiring external access. The Barracuda SSL VPN integrates with third-party authentication mechanisms to control user access levels and provides single sign-on.

The Barracuda SSL VPN also uses Barracuda Energize Updates, and is continuously updated with the latest virus and application definitions every hour keeping maintenance to a minimum and eliminating administrative overhead. Updates are provided by Barracuda Central, an advanced 24x7 security operations centre that works to continuously monitor and block the latest Internet threats.

Pricing and Availability

Barracuda SSL VPN 680 is available now starting at £8,099 with no per user fees. International pricing and availability varies depending on region.
