ADVA Optical Networking Achieves Largest QoQ Gain in Global DCI Market Share, Says Ovum Report

December 2016 by ADVA Optical Networking

ADVA Optical Networking announced that it achieved the largest quarter-over-quarter share gain on a rolling four-quarter basis in the data center interconnect (DCI) market, according to Ovum’s latest global market share report. The telecommunications vendor was also named number one in both the metro ICP/CNP DCI and enterprise DCI categories. Ovum’s latest report highlights the success that the company achieved in the DCI space during the third quarter of 2016.

Driven by booming demand for high-bandwidth video, cloud, and data center services, the global DCI market is projected to expand significantly in the near future. By growing DCI market share, ADVA Optical Networking has shown the value of its innovation and the ability of its engineers to meet diverse customer demands in an expanding and evolving market place. Key to this success is the industry’s only truly open DCI solution, the ADVA FSP 3000 CloudConnect(TM), which consumes less rack space and power than any competing technology. ADVA Optical Networking’s ConnectGuard(TM) encryption solution, optimized for DCI applications requiring maximum security, has proved to be a particularly valuable feature for customers.

"ADVA Optical Networking has had a long history working in the metro and enterprise DCI markets," commented Ian Redpath, practice leader, components, transport and routing, Ovum. "By working with and responding to their customer base, they have achieved market share success. ADVA Optical Networking’s latest focus has been working with the ICP/CNP community on metro DCI and they have recorded a very strong 2016 in that segment."
