DESCRIPTION DE LA VULNÉRABILITÉ
L’appel système NtApphelpCacheControl() est fourni par
ahcache.sys. Il permet de mettre en cache les données concernant
la compatibilité des applications. Seul un administrateur peut
l’employer pour ajouter des entrées en cache.
Cependant, la fonction AhcVerifyAdminContext() ne gère pas
l’emprunt d’identité (impersonation). L’ajout d’une entrée est
alors autorisée pour regsvr32.exe par exemple, afin d’installer
un contrôle OLE illicite.
Un attaquant local peut donc utiliser NtApphelpCacheControl() sur
Windows, afin d’élever ses privilèges.
