DESCRIPTION
The Vim program is a text editor compatible with the standard vi.
It has several vulnerabilities related to the "execute" command.
When the filename has special characters, a shell command is run
via filetype.vim. [grav:1/4]
When special characters are in the first five lines of a file, a
shell command is run via filetype.vim. [grav:2/4]
When a TAR archive contains a filename with special characters, a
shell command is run via tar.vim. [grav:2/4]
When a ZIP archive contains a filename with special characters, a
shell command is run via zip.vim. [grav:2/4]
When a XPM or XPM2 file contains malicious data, a shell command
is run via xpm.vim or xpm2.vim. [grav:2/4]
When a gzip archive contains a filename with special characters, a
shell command is run via gzip.vim. [grav:2/4]
When a fle accessed via Netrw has a filename with special
characters, a shell command is run via Netrw. [grav:2/4]
An attacker can therefore execute commands when the victim opens a
malicious file with Vim.
