SYNTHESIS OF THE VULNERABILITY
An attacker can read a memory fragment of Node.js ws, in order to
obtain sensitive information.
– Impacted products: Fedora, Node.js Modules not comprehensive.
– Severity: 1/4.
– Creation date: 05/01/2016.
DESCRIPTION OF THE VULNERABILITY
The Node.js ws module implements a websocket client.
However, to build the Ping reply, it does not initialize a memory
area before returning it to the user.
An attacker can therefore read a memory fragment of Node.js ws, in
order to obtain sensitive information.
