SYNTHESIS OF THE VULNERABILITY

An attacker can create a memory leak by opening a large number of
TCP connections to Cisco Unified Communications Manager IM and
Presence Service, in order to trigger a denial of service.

DESCRIPTION OF THE VULNERABILITY

The Cisco Unified Communications Manager IM and Presence Service
product listens on ports 5060/tcp or 5061/tcp.

A memory area is allocated for each connection. However, it is
never freed.

An attacker can therefore create a memory leak by opening a large
number of TCP connections to Cisco Unified Communications Manager
IM and Presence Service, in order to trigger a denial of service.
