SYNTHESIS OF THE VULNERABILITY

An authenticated attacker can create several tmp/*config files on
Cisco ASR 9000, in order to trigger a denial of service.

Impacted products: Cisco ASR, IOS XR Cisco.

Severity: 1/4.

Creation date: 12/08/2015.

DESCRIPTION OF THE VULNERABILITY

The Cisco ASR 9000 product creates a "tmp/*config" file when a vty
session ends.

However, these files are not deleted.

An authenticated attacker can therefore create several tmp/*config
files on Cisco ASR 9000, in order to trigger a denial of service.
