The Logic Group announces a new Secure Card Not Present Payments Service

May 2008 by Marc Jacob

The Logic Group, specialists in the secure
management of information and transactions across Europe, has introduced
a further service within its Managed Payments Services portfolio which
replaces the need for organisations to retain sensitive cardholder data.

Against a backdrop of rising concern in the media and from consumers on
the issues of identity theft, security breaches and data loss, the
introduction of The Logic Group’s latest managed service enhancement
provides a timely reminder for organisations to ensure their "card not
present" business processes and practices are appropriately robust and
compliant.

The Logic Group’s Managed Payments Service is fully compliant with the
Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI:DSS) and was the first
multi-channel payment service in Europe to gain this certification.

The Logic Group’s latest Managed Service offering provides an attractive
alternative for businesses working towards PCI:DSS compliance by storing
sensitive payment information within The Logic Group’s specialist
PCI-compliant data centres, rather than within in-house databases.
Instead of holding sensitive customer card data, businesses store
"unique tokens" which interact with the Managed Payment Service.

As a result, organisations are able to reduce their operational and
compliance costs whilst processing payments as normal without the need
to store or handle sensitive data thereby ensuring they can offer their
customers a secure and trusted payments environment and mitigate any
associated risks to their brand asset.

The new Logic Group Secure Card Not Present Payments Service is
resilient, accommodates recurring payments and provides a
complete view of an organisations trading estate with real-time
reporting capability. It can integrate seamlessly into consumer-facing
online payment pages, as well as enable call centre agents to process
payments securely through a web browser.
