October 2012 by Emmanuelle Lamandé

Since 19th September 2012, the French company Oxalya, specialised in computer simulation by High Performance Computing (HPC) has joined OVH.com. This merger will include the rapid launch of HPC in Cloud Computing offers which, will meet the growing need of companies in the field of modeling and simulation.

The synergy between Oxalya’s technology and the industrial production capacity of OVH.com’s servers will respond to the needs of R & D consultancies and departments who require on demand and timely computing power, without having to invest in server farms. Customers can rent a supercomputer by the hour or for a week.

Together, Oxalya and OVH.com will propose HPC offers in the Cloud. The companies will be able to switch the HPC to the hoster and gain in computational power, have parallel computation resources. The first offer is expected before the end of the year.

OVH.com acquired all assets of Oxalya who joined the OVH.com group and continue to develop by becoming one of its brand.
The 19 Oxalya employees who joined the Paris office of OVH.com still retain their autonomy. They continue with their usual activities of installing and maintaining high performance computing clusters.
