December 2007 by Emmanuelle Lamandé
Nexsan Technologies announces the opening of its French office and the appointment of Pierre Aguerreberry as sales manager for France, Belgium and Luxembourg. At the same time Nexsan has strengthened its reseller-base in France with the signing of five channel partners.
In addition to Rise, its historic partner, Nexsan has signed agreements with CFI, digital Storage, Algos Network and SC-DAM.
Aguerreberry joins Nexsan Technologies with extensive experience in the storage sector, having contributed to the development of such companies as Veritas Software, Datacore Software, Evault and Active Circle.
Pierre Aguerreberry’s European objectives will be to develop a network of value-added partners, acquire new client references in Nexsan’s target markets including the world of video, broadcast and medical imaging as well as general data archiving and major enterprises concerned with saving their data reliably and securely to meet compliance requirements.
Nexsan Technologies is best known for its SATABeast, an advanced SATA disk-based solution for nearline storage, disk-based backup (D2D) and disaster recovery applications and its Assureon, a secure archiving system for protecting the integrity of data in long-term storage situations.
Both products take advantage of Nexsan’s AutoMAID™ (Automatic Massive Array of Idle Disks) technology allowing it to power down disk drives to conserve energy yet provide near-instantaneous access to data. Conventional fibre channel storage consumes 187KW of energy per petabyte. In contrast, an Assureon system in Level 3 AutoMAID idle mode consumes just 6KW.
