Marathon Technologies and Software House, Part of Tyco Security Products, Partner to Deliver a Comprehensive Fault Tolerance and Disaster Recovery Solution for Physical Security Management

March 2012 by Marc Jacob

Marathon Technologies, a provider and innovator of application availability and disaster recovery solutions and Software House, a provider of access control solutions, have developed a global partnership to provide fault tolerance and disaster recovery for Software House’s C-CURE 9000 and C-CURE 800/8000 security and event management systems.

Marathon’s everRun MX, SplitSite and MX Extend products are the disaster recovery solutions of choice for Software House. By leveraging the everRun product family, C-CURE 9000 now has the ability to deliver fault tolerant capabilities that ensure zero downtime and zero data-loss for security system deployments where temporary loss of control is not tolerated.

"Server outages can result in the loss of command and control functionality as well as the inability to monitor critical security events," said Warren Brown, Vice President of Product Management for Tyco Security Products. "By including fault tolerance with everRun MX we deliver continuous access to data and the network, effectively eliminating this risk." "We spent extensive time researching the different high availability alternatives offered today and found that the everRun MX family provides the most robust and easy to use high availability solution," Mr. Brown continued.

"We have three key accounts in Milwaukee who had originally implemented a fail-over, redundant system solution that was causing serious problems. As a result, we evaluated Marathon’s everRun products and found them to be an extremely solid replacement; giving our key customers the peace of mind they need," said Mark Conway, Vice President of Engineering from Toepfer Security Corp. In addition, Mark explains, "We deployed Software House’s C-CURE 9000 along with everRun MX SplitSite(TM) to offer a cross-town, redundant and disaster tolerant security and event management solution. This combination has proven to be a uniquely robust, easy to manage, zero down-time solution, solving reliability problems for us and our customers; which we were not able to solve before. Marathon does for servers, what RAID controllers do for disks. It works as advertised."

"We are very excited to be partnering with Software House to bring the highest level of availability to their customers," said Matt Wrabley, Vice President of Business Development from Marathon Technologies. "Exposing companies to security risks due to system or component failure doesn’t make sense. Zero downtime zero data-loss technology with everRun MX fault tolerance insures against this."
