Leading Analyst Firm Positions Absolute Software as a Visionary in Magic Quadrant

Absolute Software Included in Client Management Tools Magic Quadrant
Vancouver, Canada: February 6, 2012 – Absolute® Software Corporation (“Absolute” or the “Company”) (TSX: ABT), the leading provider of firmware-embedded endpoint security and management solutions, announced today it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the Visionaries Quadrant of the Client Management Tools Magic Quadrant. According to the report, “Visionaries have vision scores that reflect feature-complete products, and they show technology leadership in providing some life cycle management functions users have begun requesting, or will have an impact during the next year or two (as discussed in the Completeness of Vision section). A Visionary will have particular strengths in certain emerging areas (e.g., mobile device management, Mac management, appliances, SaaS or desktop virtualization), but may lack a fully mature life cycle management solution, a global market presence or brand recognition.”
For inclusion in the Magic Quadrant for Client Management Tools, vendor solutions were considered based on the following functions: Data/Settings Migration; Inventory; OS Deployment; Patch Management; Remote Control; Software Usage; SW Packaging & Distribution; Power Management. Mobile Device Management was another component, along with Application and Desktop Virtualization.
