KuppingerCole introduces new research format tailored for executives – the Leadership Brief

March 2015 by KuppingerCole

The independent Analyst Company KuppingerCole introduces a new research format that is tailored for executives. The KuppingerCole Leadership Brief provides condensed research and advice for executives and decision makers in organizations. The 2pg documents cover business challenges, and advice on how to address these, focusing on the key issues and allowing decision makers to quickly grasp both challenge and resolution.

KuppingerCole Leadership Briefs will become available across KuppingerCole’s entire scope of research, covering Information Security including Cloud Security and IAM/IAG (Identity and Access Management/Governance), but also the Digital Transformation of Businesses. It targets decision makers at all corporate levels that need a condensed yet comprehensive overview of the particular issues they are facing in their businesses.

The Leadership Brief complements the existing report formats from KuppingerCole such as the mostly product-related Analyst View, the extensive Advisory Notes delivering in-depth information, and the Leadership Compass comparing vendors and their products and services in particular market segments.

The first Leadership Briefs have already been published at the KuppingerCole Website. One covers the topic “Security standards a CISO/CIRO should be aware of”, written by KuppingerCole Fellow Analyst Mike Small. Standards are the distilled wisdom of people with expertise in their subject matter. A CISO should know which standards are relevant to the organization and choose which should be used internally and by external product and service providers.

The second Leadership Brief has the title “Monetizing the Digital Transformation”. Martin Kuppinger, Principal Analyst and founder of KuppingerCole, writes about the Digital Transformation of business that is on its way. However, success in monetizing the Digital Transformation will not be based merely on selling things. It also requires a change in business models.

Leadership Brief three is about “Your customer identities: How to do them right”. Digital business strategies require up-to-date and reliable customer identities. They are essential to target your marketing, to adjust the design of your products and services, to increase your earnings and to create long-term relationships with your customers. Number four covers the topic “Alternatives to complex role projects and resource-consuming recertification”. Enterprise Role Management and Access Governance are at the core of today’s IAM systems hoping to achieve efficient administration processes and compliance with regulatory requirements. Costly processes for the design and maintenance of large role-based projects and for extensive annual recertification campaigns demand a next generation approach to Access Governance. Both Briefs are written by KuppingerCole’s Senior Analyst Mathias Reinwarth.

KuppingerCole will publish additional Leadership Briefs on a regular basis to expand their research section and to offer their existing and potential clients short but well-grounded analysis about actual business problems.

The new Leadership Briefs as well as all other reports from KuppingerCole can be found and downloaded at the report section of KuppingerCole’s Website. Journalists may request these documents and all other analyses from KuppingerCole free of charge. Please send us specimen copies of any published articles or links to online publications referring to our reports.
