Interxion and CoreSite Announce Transatlantic Alliance
June 2011 by Emmanuelle Lamandé
INTERXION HOLDING NV announced a cloud computing-focused data centre alliance with CoreSite.
The alliance addresses dual-continent demand from cloud companies looking for data centre space in Europe and the U.S. as well as cloud customers of both companies looking to expand internationally. The transatlantic cloud data centre alliance reduces the risk and challenges involved with international data centre sourcing between Europe and the U.S. with Interxion and CoreSite providing a seamless sourcing process and similar cloud-optimised peering/network access and colocation environments.
This alliance will also allow the companies to address the transatlantic demand from the fast-growing digital media and content sectors, which also require high availability and well-connected data centre environments for the effective aggregation, management and distribution of on-demand and real-time online content. Interxion and CoreSite are both carrier-neutral data centre providers, offering direct access to hundreds of connectivity partners, including Tier 1 and Tier 2 network service providers, Internet service providers, Europe’s public Internet exchanges and leading content distribution networks.
As the market for cloud services continues to grow, companies like Interxion and CoreSite represent an ideal way to reach the highest concentrations of consumers on both sides of the Atlantic. Customers based in the U.S can now move seamlessly into Europe, extending connectivity and presence across the region,“ said David Ruberg, Chief Executive Officer, Interxion.
