September 2009 by Marc Jacob
The Industry Consortium for Advancement of Security on the Internet (ICASI: http://www.icasi.org) today announced that Nokia, the world’s leading maker of mobile devices, has joined the organization as a Founding Member, the highest level of ICASI membership.
Nokia joins current ICASI Founding Members Cisco, International Business Machines (IBM), Intel, Juniper Networks and Microsoft. Nokia brings to the organization world-class expertise in mobile devices, which are the primary means of accessing the Internet for millions of users in many countries around the world. Nokia’s membership in ICASI also expands the consortium’s global reach.
Nokia’s expertise complements the broad range of industry and security capabilities of ICASI’s other Founding Members: Cisco is the worldwide leader in networking that transforms how people connect, communicate and collaborate; IBM is the world’s largest information technology company; Intel is the world leader in silicon innovation; Juniper Networks is the leader in high-performance networking; and Microsoft is the worldwide leader in software, services and solutions that help people and businesses realize their full potential.
ICASI gives these global information technology (IT) leaders a trusted forum to address international, multi-product security challenges, extending the ability of IT vendors to focus on complex security issues and better protect enterprises, governments, citizens and the critical IT infrastructures that support them.
